Project Update
Narara
The NSW government is in the process of selecting one out of three contenders to act as marketing agents for the land at Narara, which SCEV has rated as an excellent site for an ecovillage. We understand that two agents are from Newcastle and is one from Sydney. We gather that the government is serious about selling this property and must feel that it needs a fresh marketing approach.

Project Update
Global Foundation for Sustainable Communities
We are having discussions with Frank Hermesdorf and Rob McDowell from the Global Foundation for Sustainable Communities in Melbourne who, through one of their supporting foundations are offering us a substantial, low interest ethical business loan. This would be excellent timing for our project. The application for the loan, would require asking members to cover the fees and charges and it would not be without a residual risk. I am sure that we could raise these funds and we do not want SCEV to miss such an opportunity. If anyone has any views or experience with such ventures, we would appreciate you contacting us.

Project Update
Potential Developers
Also, we have been talking to two developers about joint venturing with the SCEV association to take the Narara project forward. One recognises the opportunity, but needs to remain focused on his existing commitments and the other developer is undecided.

Graham-Talbott Family
Our little family (made up of John, Samantha and 3 year old Taran) has been on the journey with Lyndall and David for a good while now! Plus we’ve been into Sustainability for a long time. John (Talbott) was the Director of the Findhorn Ecovillage in Scotland for over 2 decades, Sam (Graham) has been designing Sustainability Education programmes since she did her Masters in Human Ecology in Edinburgh back in 1992, and Taran, well, he’s been an advocate for a long time. Two recent quotes from Taran: “The traffic disappoints me” and “I will have to put block-out on my ears. They might burn because they don’t have doors.” So he has been way into Sustainability and protecting precious assets from the get-go. We are most excited about the Sydney Coastal Ecovillage because the people it is attracting are very inspiring, the location – so close to Sydney – is ideal, and the process Lyndall and David are hosting is exceptionally good. Our high dream for the Ecovillage – that it attracts the necessary funding in the first 6 months of 2010 and we can get on with the next phase!! Let’s sound the note and attract the right people. Allons Y! (Let’s Go!!!).
