I grew up in the Hunter Valley then having lived in Sydney for almost too long I moved up to the Central Coast 2 years ago all by my lonesome...I wasn't alone for long; there is a sense of community up here like I didn't experience in the city. I know all of the people in my street and feel I can call on them at any time. Since I have been up here I find myself engaging in healthier activities as part of my daily routine (going to the beach is not a pre-planned adventure, it's just there!) Working as an architect I still have projects in Sydney and travel there often (1 hour away) and a very nice train ride over the Hawkesbury it is (for those hesitant about cutting the 'umbilical cord' to Sydney- you may not need to) I think the concept of an eco-village is no longer an 'alternative lifestyle' but the right option if we are to live environmentally responsibly and happy.
So, come on up- this is a great place to live!
