- SCEV Inc is working to purchase the Gosford Horticultural Institute land at Narara near Gosford in NSW, Australia for the purposes of developing a leading-edge ecovillage (sustainable develop).
- The site is approx 63ha of which ~ 12 ha of land is zoned 2(a) to enable residential development.
- There is a site-specific Devt Control Plan (DCP) with guiding principles/master plan for a Development Application for 118 lots.
- Currently we have a database of around 600 people interested in the project.
- SCEV Inc has developed some project ‘givens’ which are available on our website.
- There has been a new agent appointed and a new sale process begins any time now.
- All ideas at this critical stage welcome. Please email Lyndall: lyndall@scev.org
It seems to us that the project is gaining more and more momentum and interest. The economic downturn seems to be happening at the same time as personal shifts in consciousness as well as changing thoughts on ecology and society. We feel that there has never been a better time for an ecovillage/genuine sustainable development to demonstrate other possibilities for living.
There are limitless possibilities for this project and it is so exciting watching them unfold. Feel free to dip in (and out) as you like. There is no need to feel committed; you may simply want to give us a leg-up now.
