Who might want to join us?
- Footloose
and fancy-free individuals, escape from city executives, lovers of
nature, single parents, empty nesters, DINK (double income, no kids),
families, grandma and grandpa, city people who want a change on weekends
and holidays, people who want to create a life that aims beyond the
ordinary.
|
|
- 150
300 people of all ages, with a diversity of backgrounds and interests,
and a common desire to create a new way of living.

Some
people with homes in our village may be part of a village based
business or they may choose to continue their city
lives, visiting on weekends and holidays, others may work part-time
in the city perhaps spending a couple of nights a week in an apartment
that they (or the village) may own in the city. Consultants may come
and go as assignments dictate, perhaps making use of our village Business
Centre.
|
- Artists
and writers may enjoy the solitude of working in their village home
with a carrot and celery juice Happy Hour around 5pm in the Piazza to
chat and share their ideas. Cottage industry, rural workers and market
gardeners may flourish in our village.
|
- Our village
will introduce our children and grandchildren to a world beyond their
families, thereby increasing their self-confidence, self-esteem and
independence. We will promote a safe community where we can roam more
freely and experience a fuller sense of life.
|
- Prospective
residents may be attracted to our ethos and village notion, with some
simple and agreed upon commitments to entering the village and with
ease to leave the village.
|
- The idea
is that the village may form the context in which you can design the
life you wish to lead. The layout will encourage neighbourly interaction
while respecting peoples privacy we will have a strong
sense of belonging.
